Vasilas' innovative approach to making multimedia work strives to give the dancer the ability to simultaneously paint the space with both imagery and movement. She has worked with Cathy Weis, Bessie Award winning video dance artist, Dawn Stopiello, choreographer of Multimedia Dance Company Troika Ranch, and Kristin Marting, artistic director of Here Arts Center. In 2005 Vasilas was awarded a yearlong residency at Performance Space 122 as one of New York City's new leading artists.
